MW1 Pitting Edema Model
Five variations of pitting edema models including a normal one. Grades of the edemas are based on “Mosby s Guide to Physical
Examination (7th ed.)”. The models can be worn on the lower thighs of a SP or a training manikin.

- Differentiation of pitting edemas with four different grades and a normal
- Learn the examination procedures for edemas on the lower thighs
Features:
- Four grades of pitting edemas with different resistances, depth of indentations
- Grades of the edemas are based on “Mosby s Guide to Physical Examination (7th Ed.)”
- The models can be worn on the lower thighs of a SP or a training manikin
- The removable fibula plate facilitates training without SP leg or simulation on the soft bases
Degrees of pitting edemas:
- Normal - No indentation left
- Light pitting (+) - Indentations with approx. 2 mm depth
- Moderate pitting (2+) - Indentations with approx. 4 mm depth
- Deep pitting (3+) - Veins, bones and joints are indistinct because of swell, indentations with approx. 6 mm depth
- Very deep pitting (4+) - Indentations with approx. 8 mm depth
