Polished polyacrylic block with bores of various diameters and varying distance from the surface to determine the speed of sound and the attenuation of ultrasonic signals in polyacrylate, to localize defects, investigate aberrations resulting from acoustic shadows and ground returns, analyse frequency-dependent resolving power and display manual B-images. Both the 1 MHz (U10015) and 4 MHz (U10017) transducers are required for studying resolution.
